IRMCA Annual Convention

​The Iowa Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s 76th Annual Convention welcomed over 278 attendees at the DoubleTree Cedar Rapids on March 2-4, 2025.

Sunday Evening kicked off the three-day event with an Exhibitor Showcase and the Schist Kicker Rock Race.

​​​Monday featured learning sessions throughout the day and special luncheon entertainment, retired NFL kicker, Nate Kaeding. That evening, during the Convention’s annual banquet Dave Suchorski was presented the honorary members award for his dedication to the concrete industry. 

The dinner also served as an opportunity to recognize some of the state’s top construction and engineering students through the presentation of 30 IRMCA academic scholarships for 2025, including two Jerry Woods Scholarships. Through the awarding of scholarships, the IRMCA hopes to recognize the best and brightest of our state’s students and encourage them to consider careers in Iowa’s concrete ready mix industry. 2025 Scholarship Press Release

​The evening ended with the annual Auction, raising money for the IRMCA Scholarship fund. This year we were able to raise over $95,000!

​The Convention concluded on Tuesday morning with the presentation of EIC Winners, Safety & Environmental Winners, Annual Business Meeting. 

The event’s thirty-seven sponsors and ten exhibitors truly made this year’s event a success. In addition, the event would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the hard work and dedication of the association’s Event Committee and the many speakers who volunteered their time and expertise. Through its many educational sessions, the three-day Iowa Convention featured presentations on Preconstruction Evaluation & Placement, Air Quality, Fleet Dash Cam Discussion, Mental Health, NRMCA Education Programs and Power & Potential of AI.
