ICPA Concrete Paving Workshop & Paving Awards

The Iowa Concrete Paving Association’s 62nd Annual
Concrete Paving Workshop at the Holiday Inn
Des Moines-Airport/Conference Center on February 4-6, 2026.
 
The ICPA Board of Directors kicked off the 3-day workshop with the election of Joe Owen, Owen Contracting, Inc. as their 2026 Chairman during the first day of the Workshop.

​The Concrete Paving Awards Luncheon, which highlights the “best of the best” concrete paving projects within the state of Iowa began with three special awards given. The luncheon gave recognition of 102 projects nominated for the 2025 Concrete Paving Awards. The ICPA and the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) jointly evaluated and recognized projects as the best concrete pavements built in 2025. Plaques were presented in 21 categories to personnel from the companies dedicated to the winning projects.

Later that evening, the workshop’s annual banquet served as an opportunity to recognize some of the state’s top engineering students through the presentation of fifteen ICPA academic scholarships for 2026. Through the awarding of scholarships, the ICPA hopes to recognize the best and brightest of our state’s students and encourage them to consider careers in Iowa’s concrete paving industry. This year’s scholarship recipients are:
